IN/OUT parking management system

← Back to Smart city

The Parking In/Out system is designed to define a car park's occupancy state by detecting incoming and outgoing vehicles. Each time a vehicle enters the parking lot, the parking places available are reduced by one and incremented by one when a vehicle exits.

The system is composed of a control unit, several detectors, and, if desired, several displays showing the number of available parking spaces.

The system can use different kinds of detectors (magnetic, infrared or laser scanners) depending on the parking lot's characteristics. The detectors must be installed at each entrance and exit of the parking.

The control unit is equipped with a CPU (Linux embedded operating system), an expansion board, and a modem (if required). Its software contains specific algorithms to reduce the multiple transit detections generated by vehicle maneuvers inside the sensor's range.

The main tasks of this system are:

  • Get data from the detectors;
  • Set filters and transits detecting mode;
  • Compute the car park state (free, filling, full) and available places;
  • Send data to the control station;
  • Modem control (GPRS, UMTS, WIFI);
  • Sensor's diagnostic;
  • Set the number of free or occupied park lots through a web application or SMS;
  • Local display management.

Comark use LSR2001 - PARK detector uses the laser technology to detect vehicles that enter and/or exit a parking area.The laser detector is able to:

  • Count vehicles;
  • Detect the transit direction;
  • Trigger an alarm when a vehicle is detected.

Opposed to other simpler counting systems, the sensor LSR2001PARK is very accurate in detecting vehicles. The sensor performs continuous scans across the width of the parking entrance or exit.
